There are too many veterans and former service members who have been denied their earned benefits and compensation. Also, many programs designed to benefit our veterans that are fully funded by American taxpayers are not efficiently used because veterans are not aware of them.
According to the U.S. Government Accountability Office report, certain groups within the military are more likely than others to be denied benefits and compensation. Other veterans are not aware of what benefits they may be entitled to. For example, another U.S. Government Accountability Office report shows that Department of Veterans Affairs could to a better job of connecting veterans to benefits.
